December 26, 2001
I added 2 new entries to the Registry today.
Today I noticed that familiar clunk in the steering. That means that
I've blown through another set of bushings on the power assist ram. I have
to find something tougher than rubber shock bushings, but that's the only
thing I've found that is thin enough to fit. Maybe my local 4x4 place
has something urethane that will fit.

I don't want to sound like a jerk, but I want to remind everyone
that this is a website about Ford trucks built in 1948, 1949, 1950, 1951,
and 1952. These are the years of the Bonus Built truck. I thought that
was pretty obvious, but I get a lot of email asking about all years
of trucks as if I should know. Just for the record, my knowledge
is limited in these areas: Tractors, Chevy trucks, Tuckers, 63 F100s,
79 F150s, 93 F150s, and 95 Camaros. I have recently gotten emails asking
very detailed questions about all of those. I almost always write
back and try to be as helpful as I can. Even if I don't know
the whole answer I usually know something--or can at least suggest
where to look. I think that some people need to do a little better research--be
a little more selective with keywords when you search on Yahoo. When people
are looking for Camaro info on a Ford truck website there is a problem.
Having said that, feel free to write to me and ask me questions. I'm happy
to try to help, but realize that the farther your question is from Bonus
Built trucks, the less helpful my answers are likely to be.
PS: 3 updates in 1 day. My first hat trick!
December 21, 2001
It looks like my truck is good for about 10 miles per gallon. I put
in 3 gallons yesterday, then drove 31 miles and ran out of gas. 10 mpg
is my minimum acceptable mileage. The bigger issue is that I thought
there was another 5 gallons or so in the tank before I put in the
3 yesterday. The truck has been sitting for a couple months. I haven't
noticed any leaks and it's not possible for somebody to be siphoning off
the gas. Does gas evaporate out of the tank? This isn't the first time
this has happened.
December 21, 2001
I had the truck out for it's first real drive in a long time yesterday.
It was about 25 miles round trip. It was raining lightly so the headlights
and wipers were both on. I feel comfortable with the electrical system
now. The trip was uneventful, which is good. The only thing worth mentioning
is a 5 second panic attack I had. I had to make a hard stop
when a light turned red. I don't like hard stops in that truck because
I haven't made enough of them to know exactly what it will do. Will
the engine mounts hold? Will the brake calipers rip from their mountings?
Will the cab fall off the frame? Will the brakes lock and send me skidding
sideways into an old woman at a bus stop? There are a lot of things we
assume won't happen that very well could. Everything held and felt pretty
good but the temp gauge immediately ran up to 250. That shouldn't be.
I shifted into neutral (but can't explain why) and the gauge went
back down to normal.
PS: I got a lot of looks and comments as I drove around yesterday.
That's always nice.
December 19, 2001
I have finally updated the Owner Registry. Nearly 40 new entries
have been added. Check it out.
A new installment of "Learn From the Mistakes of Others" is
available in the Hall of Shame.
Another movie has been added to the film/tv page.
A tip has been added to the tips page.
A new link is available in the Survival Guide.
A correction has been made on the Toyota
power steering page.
Wow, 2 updates in 1 day. It's a crazy
world we live in.
December 19, 2001
I met a guy from Syria yesterday. He owns a 48 F1 and a 51 Chevy. He told
me that in his country the cool thing to do is to install some kind of
rack (I didn't completely understand it from his description) above
the windshield and hang vegetables from it. He says it looks really nice.
I'll take his word for it.
December 7, 2001
My night classes are over now...at least until January 8. So for the time
being I should be able to post Swap Meet submissions and answer email
in a fairly timely fashion. I get a vacation starting the 18th so
I should also be able to fix a couple things that have been bugging me--like
updating the registry (40+ new entries).
I saw gas today for $1.03 so it looks like the truck will see considerable
road time for a while. That's a good thing.
A new poll is now up...finally!
November 20, 2001
Just a couple more weeks and my classes are over. My last final is on
December 7th. After that I get to have a life again (well, for about
a month). If you have had to take classes or training you might be able
to relate to this--I call it the nuisance class. A nuisance class
is one in which you get an A without learning anything or working very
hard, but you still have to spend considerable time going to class and
working on projects. I'm currently taking 3 classes and 2 of them are
nuisance classes. Oh well, you do what you have to do to do what you want
to do.
What's up with the price of gas lately? A year ago I was afraid we'd never
see gas under $2 a gallon again and now it's close to $1 a gallon. I'm
not complaining though--in fact, if it does hit $1 a gallon I'm putting
my Explorer in the garage and driving my truck daily for a while.
I made an attempt to tidy up the Swap Meet. All I did was put
lines between the entries but it makes it a little less confusing. I'm
still planning on a more friendly layout.
I hope you all have a good holiday.
November 4, 2001
I finally got my garage empty enough to park the truck in it this
weekend. I didn't want to put it away dirty (and after being parked
on the street for a month it was filthy) so I took it to the drive
through car wash at the gas station. That was quite an experience! There
are just a few leaks in the cab--I actually got wet sitting there.
I was expecting worse though. The car wash didn't do a great job,
but it was good enough. The thing is set up for more square vehicles so
it had a problem with the multi surfaced truck. It was also really really
dirty--with lots of bird crap. If it was only normal dirty it would have
been much better. Anyway, if you ever want a very noisy and slightly scary
experience, drive your truck through the car wash.
October 28, 2001
Is it December yet? Crap, only half way through the quarter. Randon thoughts:
Not having days off--sucks; Windows XP--cool; My new apartment--cool;
Not ever seeing my new apartment because I'm gone 12 hours a day--sucks;
the return of standard time--cool; not driving my truck--sucks; not updating
the website--sucks; LA Kings in last place--sucks worst of all.
I added several new items to the Swap Meet. They've been piling up
lately, as has everything else.
I'm starting to catch up on emails. If you wrote to me and I haven't
gotten back to you be patient, I'm working on it.
I have about 50 entries for the Truck Registry, but they probably
won't be posted until December. If you have an entry you can send it to
me and I'll throw it on the pile.
A new poll is on it's way. It should be up on or around Nov 1.
September 26, 2001
I just wanted to say hello to everybody. Night school is in full swing
now and will continue until (I think) December 5th. My move got delayed
a couple weeks and will now be the weekend of the 5th (October that is).
All of my reference materials are in boxes at the moment so if you ask
me a detailed question there's a good chance I'll ask you to write back
in a couple weeks.
September 16, 2001
Sorry for the lack of updates recently. This has been a very busy month
and it doesn't look to get any better in the next couple months. I'll
be moving next weekend, and resuming night classes the following week.
My schedule is packed pretty tight but I'll still update the site when
I can. The next thing I plan to tackle is reorganizing the Swap
Meet. It's a great feature but it's not laid out too well.
Unfortunately, after I move it will not be possible to continue with
the Truck Cam. There is simply no way to aim the cam at the truck in it's
new location. The cam has been down for the last several months to conserve
energy so I'm sure everyone is living their lives happily without it already.
There is talk around the Bonus Built Dot Com office (aka the corner of
the spare bedroom where the computer is) about buying a digital video
camera. The reason for this is twofold. 1.) Bolster the economy, consumer
confidence, etc., to keep the country out of an economic depression (we're
nothing if not patriotic here). 2.) DV would allow some very fun and creative
content to appear on the website.
September 1, 2001
Welcome to an important month in the history of Bonus Built Dot Com. This
month marks the 5th anniversary of the site. I believe the actual
day was September 24, 1996 but I could be wrong. In that time we've
been on 4 hosts and 50,000 people have visited the site. The discussion
list now has 100 members, some of which have been coming to the site since
the beginning. It's been a good 5 years and I look forward to many
more. I'd say that I've accomplished my goal of giving owners and fans
of these trucks a comprehensive resource. I hope you like it.
The Swap Meet was introduced last
month and it is very popular. check it out if you need parts or have parts
to sell. If you've sold/bought anything through it let me know how it
went.
A visitor to the site from the UK says that country musician Don Williams
has a beat up F1 on the cover of one of his albums. I've checked CDNOW,
Amazon, and the Don Williams website but can't find a picture of the album
cover. Does anybody own it or know where I can get a picture of the
cover? I don't know which album it is and he has many.
A new movie was added to the Film & TV section.
In typical fashion an F1 gets blown up. What's up with that?
My subscription to Custom Classic Trucks has now expired. Good riddance.
A new tech tip has been added.
The August poll is now closed and the results have been posted.
A new poll is up. Grab your receipts and take it.
August 11, 2001
Today we launch a new section of the website: The swap meet. If you have
parts to sell or are looking for parts to buy this is the place to go.
It costs nothing to list your parts and costs nothing to browse. Click
here to check it out.
August 6, 2001
The Bonus Built mailing list is now available in digest form. Digests
are sent out about every 3 days so it's not for the guys who need a quick
dose of truck talk in their mailbox every day. If you check your mail
infrequently or are a chronic lurker then it might be for you. See the
FAQ for details on the digest.
August 1, 2001
The July poll is now over. The most popular truck color, by a wide margin,
is red. Blue was a distant second. Orange had only 3% of the vote, yet
almost every 48-52 truck I see around Burbank is orange. Maybe somebody
had a sale on orange paint.
A new poll is up now for August.
Two new movies have been added to the film and tv page.
July 29, 2001
The domain bonusbuilt.com once again points to this page. All the email
addresses are working again, as is the bonusbuilt mailing list. Unfortunately
if you subscribed to the list after April 1, 2001 you'll have to resubscribe.
April 1 was the newest subsriber list I had to restore the list with--worry.
Click this
link to subscribe.
July 28, 2001
Alright, it looks like after a couple redirections anybody trying to reach
bonusbuilt.com will end up here. In a couple days you can get here just
by entering the domain name (like it's always been).
All the pages have been moved to the new server and should be working
now. NONE of the bonusbuilt.com email addresses are working, however,
so you'll have to wait a couple days to send email. If you're on the bonusbuilt
mailing list, it's down too. It should return by next weekend. I'll have
more information about that when it's time.
July 27, 2001
4:07pm PST. You might not be reading this for up to 48 hours but here's
the story: July 23rd I wasn't able to ftp a site update. No biggie--sometimes
things don't work. July 26th I tried, and failed, to ftp another
update. Not only did the update not upload, the bonusbuilt.com index page
(the one you're reading now) disappeared. Visitors found a plain white
page. The problem was that my host somehow miscalculated how much disk
space I was using and cut me off for going over my limit. Not being very
impressed with their efforts (lack of) to set things straight I've moved
the site to a different host. Everything should look and work the same
as it always has. The most inconvenient part of all this is that the Bonus
Built Mailing List is toast. It will have to be recreated and newer members
may have to resubscribe. It's a hassle and I'm sorry. At least maybe this
time I can get it to accept posts by aol users.
July 25, 2001
I'm considering offering a free "swap meet" type of service
on the site to put people with parts in touch with people who need parts
and vice versa. First I need to know if there is any real interest
in this type of thing, so please email me if you have an opinion or parts
to sell.
The site now uses a different search engine, which seems to be much friendlier
and you can use it from the main page.
July 23, 2001
I should read my own site sometimes. Today I tried to test fit a
pair of headers I've had laying around for a couple years. They're regular
headers and they're huge. They interfere with the steering box and motor
mounts. I tried this a while back and forgot, but it's on the site. I
could have saved some trouble. Anybody know of good tight headers for
the 351C 2V or 351M? I tried block huggers from Sanderson but they
hit the steering box. So far the stock manifolds are the tightest fitting
option I've found.
July 10, 2001
Another new addition to the website today: Overcoming
the Shortcomings of the Stock Suspension and Frame. It covers aspects
of the frame and suspension that are usually ignored.
New information has also been added to the Canadian
Truck page.
July 14, 2001
Online today is the newest section of the website--Tech
Tips & Helpful Hints. Check it out and send in your tips.
July 15, 2001
4 new trucks were added to the Reader's Gallery.
Some more new pictures should be on their way.
July 7, 2001
Another brave soul has contributed an important lesson in the importance
of paying attention to the Hall of Shame.
July 6, 2001
Coming soon are two new additions to the website that I'm very excited
about. The first is a 'Tips & Hints' section and the second is called
'Overcoming the Shortcomings of the Stock Suspension and Frame'. Both
will rely heavily on reader input so if you feel you have anything to
contribute on either topic please drop me a line.
July 6, 2001
News flash: According to a reader, the monster truck Grave Digger was
originally a 51 F1 back in the mud bogger days. Anybody have a picture
or additional info?
Lots of housekeeping today!
A couple typos were fixed and a disclaimer about historical research were
added to the History
section.
Two new movies were added to the Film & TV
list.
New items added to the Survival Guide and
dead links have been weeded out. Also, all links now open in a new window
so that you don't lose your place on this site.
The Bonus Built discussion list's FAQ
has been updated to include troubleshooting tips for AOL 6.0 users who
can't send messages.
New pictures will be up shortly. It's rather laborious to get them ready.
You can help ease my suffering and reduce procrastination by submitting
pictures as 320x240 pixel jpegs at 72 dpi.
July 5, 2001
I just received the August Custom Classic Trucks. Boy are they desperate
for subscriptions! I've been getting renewal notices in the mail for over
a year and I still have 2 months left on my subscription. For the
last 3 months I've had those cardboard "you'd better renew now or
you'll miss out" covers on my magazines. I remember when they used
to save those for the last issue. I doubt I'll be renewing my subscription.
The quality of the magazine isn't going up, but the price is. I won't
miss it. In the whole issue there are only 2 minorly interesting things.
There's a black and white picture of a very colorful (I imagine) 51 COE
truck with a sleeper cab. That's almost interesting but in typical CCT
fashion it's misidentified as a 49 and (personal niggle) powered by a
454. There is an article on modifications you can do to an original inline
6. They don't address the engines that came in old F Series trucks but
the article might get the gears turning in your head. Last is an example
of what this magazine has become and an example of why I won't resubscribe.
A guy wrote in to the "tech" department saying he planned to
put power steering on his 63 Ford. He has a Toyota steering box and a
power steering pump. He's just about ready to go but his pump is so old
that it has a filter inside and he can't find a replacement. If this was
a true tech article his answer would have been something like "that's
part #12345 and Napa should have it. If they don't you can use small gauge
wire like a window screen. If you can't get that just cut up a pair of
your wife's old stockings and stick a small wad into the pump. If all
else fails, screw it, you don't really need the filter anyway." That's
probably not correct information but it's an example of the kind of helpful
advice the guy was probably looking for. Their answer to him was something
like: Call No Limit and order their power steering kit that's for a 56
that you'll have to adapt to make fit your 63. They didn't answer his
question at all. Rather than tell him where to find his 50 cent filter
they told him to buy a $600 kit to replace parts he already has. If it's
the kit I think it is it doesn't even come with a pump so the guy still
has his original problem. That pretty much sums up Custom Classic Trucks
over the last 2 years. I eagerly await my October issue, which will
be my last. You are the weakest link. Good-bye.
July 3, 2001
The July issue of Auto Restorer has a good article about engine inspection.
It covers how to use and understand compression testers, vacuum gauges,
and leak down testers. It also stresses looking at and listening to your
engine to find clues about it's health. This is an especially good article
if you're new to this kind of thing, but it's even got some good tips
for those who have been doing it a while.
There is also an article about staying safe while you work on your car.
There are some stories in there that I wish I could use in the
Hall of Shame.
July 1, 2001
Okay, now that the hell that was June 2001 is over I should be able
to do some substantial updating on this site. If you've sent me email
in the last few weeks you'll be getting a reply shortly.
Check back over the week or so for additions to the site. I have a load
of pictures to upload (finally).
Next weekend on the TNN show Trucks! they're going to do a bit on a 48
F6. Trucks is on several times each weekend, so check your local listings
or visit TNN's website.
June 11, 2001
I mentioned a while back that I wanted to set some sort of goal for
my truck. I think I have it now. AAA will tow me up to 100 miles
for free, so I'm going to find something about 100 miles away and drive
the truck there. If it breaks down and I can't fix it on the spot
at least I won't be stranded. The tough part will be finding someplace
without a lot of freeway driving. I still don't think the truck handles
well over 55. Anybody know anything good about 100 miles from LA? Santa
Barbara? Palm Springs?
May 15, 2001
What a letdown! Driving home on the freeway today I spotted an old Ford
truck a little way ahead of me. It was primer black and I thought it was
a 51 or 52 F1. I risked life and limb to catch up. Before I pulled
even I realized it was a 55 or 56 F100. "It's still cool"
is what I thought until I looked at the wheels and saw the Chevy
hubcaps. My aunt had the exact same hubcaps on her 70 Monte Carlo. I thought
that was going a bit far. Putting a Chevy engine under the hood is one
thing, but here's a primered Ford truck with all the badges taken off.
The ignorant guy on the street will look at the hubcaps and think it's
a Chevy since he has nothing else to judge by.
I tolerate Chevy engines in Ford trucks because it's unavoidable. Some
people are going to do it and there isn't really anything wrong with it.
It's sort of like knowing that your 17 year old daughter is having sex
with her boyfriend. You'd rather she didn't but you know she's going to
do it no matter what you say. You even know that she's probably done it
in your house--and maybe even while you were home. You can keep it in
the back of your mind because she doesn't draw attention to it--if you
don't see it it doesn't exist. Seeing Chevy hubcaps on a Ford is sort
of like seeing your daughter having sex with a guy you hate on your living
room floor while you're trying to eat a sandwitch and watch a Hockey game.
Stop it!
Hopefully nobody is offended by my hubcap-daughter comparison. The only
other thing I could think of was comparing it to watching somebody
anally raping my grandmother while pouring sugar in my gas tank. I think
we all agree that I chose the more tasteful metaphor.
April 13, 2001
The truck seems to be running well. It's been driven daily this week and
the only problem was that it was seriously misbehaved when it was cold
for a couple days. The solution was simple--don't rev the engine when
it's cold because that turns off the choke. I'll have to set some sort
of challenge for the truck now.
April 8, 2001
Since I'm on vacation this week I thought it would be a good time
to drive my truck. The last time I drove it in January it seemed
a little sluggish and unhappy so I decided to bump the timing up a little.
This morning I went out and changed it from the stock 10 degrees
to 16 degrees. My general timing rule is advance it as far as it will
go without pinging and I figured 16 was about as far as I could take
it. On my test drive I did get a little pinging so I came back and
dropped it down to 14 degrees. No pinging this time and my ass kicker
of a 2-3 shift seems gentler now. I'll take it out tomorrow and give it
a good workout.
April 7, 2001
I saw the movie Blow today. It's great if you like mob/drug movies
and it's got a sensitive side too. Most importantly it's got trucks! In
the first 10 minutes you see at least 3 heavy F series trucks (52's I
think) carrying cocaine around Columbia (or could have been carrying pot
around Mexico--I can't remember for sure). Later on Johnny Depp is standing
next to an F1 but I couldn't tell what year.
April 1, 2001
Another brave soul has come forth with a story of mild bone-headedness.
Read about it in the Hall of Shame.
Elvis is everywhere--even in film and tv directory.
Long live the King.
Speaking of Kings, way to go shutting
out Colorado yesterday. Keep it up so I can actually use my playoff tickets.
Anybody have any cool tips that make working on your truck easier? I'm
trying to compile a list and I could use some help. If you've got a gem
to share please
pass it along.
I've received a few photo submissions in the last month or so but I've
been pretty busy so I haven't had a chance to put them up yet. Be
patient with me--they should be up soon (in geologic time anyway).
March 20, 2001
Happy first day of spring. Now get out there and work on your trucks while
the weather is good!
March 19, 2001
A word about history: History, whether it's in a textbook or on a website,
is only as good as the evidence it's based on. We only know that George
Washington was the first president because somebody wrote it down. If
it wasn't recorded accurately we could be studying Georgia Washingthecar
in school. This is largely a historic website so it's subject to the same
limitations as a history book. The information I'm passing along is based
on personal observation, when possible, and high quality sources. I'm
trying to present good information but it's fallable. For instance I say
the standard rear end ratio for an F1 was 3.91:1 because that's what the
shop manual (published in 1952) says. If you count your gears and do a
little math you'll probably come up with a 3.73 ratio. You might run into
a 48 F1 with the wheels painted body color when I say they should be black.
Those are some of life's little mysteries. With that in mind if your truck
doesn't match what this site says it "should" look like or have
the options this site says it should then write in and tell me about it
so I can present the best information possible about these trucks.
March 13, 2001
Let's see what's in the hobby rags this month:
Custom Classic Trucks now has a website. http://www.customclassictrucks.com.
I haven't spent too much time on it yet but I'm not impressed so
far.
Most of the April issue of CCT is pretty much the usual stuff but they
do have a 4 page spread on a 48 F1. Those who complain about Chevy engines
will be happy--this truck has the distributor on the right end of the
engine. They do keep calling it a 351 Cleveland when it's obviously a
351 Windsor--that gets annoying. Overall it's a nice truck.
Auto Restorer has it's usual variety of good tech articles. Particularly
interesting is their article on converting to a 12 volt electrical system.
This site has an excellent 'how to' but Auto Restorer goes over all the
pros and cons.
March 13, 2001
Correction on the suspension for sale. The correct contact address is
rockjud@crpud.net. Sorry for
the inconvenience.
March 10, 2001
A visitor to the site is selling an Aspen suspension with templates for
a 48-52 Ford. The suspension is from a 77 Aspen wagon with 1 1/8 inch
torsion bars. The templates are from Bob's F100's. $150 for it all. Contact
Rocky in Rainier, Oregon if
you're interested.
March 5, 2001
The February poll results are in and it's a tie for the first time ever.
Check out the results here. A new poll is
available now.
Royal Kingpins now available for 48-52 F1!!! Royal Kingpins are a needle
bearing type kingpin made by Stainless Steel Brakes. I don't know much
about it but it sounds neat. Call 1-800-448-7722 for more info.
The list of films and television shows with old Ford trucks is growing
fast. You can find it here. If you know a movie
or show that should be on the list be sure to drop
me a line.
Why didn't anybody tell me that the link to the photo gallery was out
for the last month? I just caught the mistake and fixed it.
February 27, 2001
A Bonus Built list member is selling his truck:
1950 Ford F-1. Original 239 8BA Flathead (not running). Needs a lot of
work (rusty), but it is a complete truck and the frame is perfect. It
is just too nice to junk. No title, $650 (or $500 w/o engine). Located
in Green Bay, WI. Contact freek@itol.com
or hotrodfreek@hotmail.com
for info.
February 25, 2001
If you want to really piss me off--I mean completely send me into
a rage--then this is what you do: Email me and ask me a series of very
specific questions--the kind I have to look up the answers to in
3 different books. Then give me a bogus email address to reply to so the
message never gets to you. This happens too often and I'm sick of it.
I love to help people and I don't mind answering any questions at all--just
make sure you give me a valid email address or my time will be wasted
and you won't get your answer.
February 3, 2001
While it's true that a picture is worth a thousand words, it is also true
that a good description can convey information that no amount of pictures
can. With that in mind I present to you the Bonus Built List's Owner
Registry. Check it out and see what list members are doing to their trucks.
Click here for the registry. Click
here to read about the Bonus Built Mailing List.
February 1, 2001
I'm currently compiling a list of films and television shows in which
48-52 Fords can be seen. If you know of one drop
me a line. I already have some obvious ones like Forrest Gump
and Sanford and Son.
The January Poll revealed that 70% of site visitors who have straight
axle suspension plan on keeping it. A previous poll showed that 84% of
site visitor's trucks still have straight axle suspension. Interesting.
The February poll is up and can be found by scrolling down this page.
Several new links have been added to the Online Survival Guide.
Check back after the weekend for some more updates.
January 18, 2001
It looks like the webcam will be down indefinitely. In October my computer
started doing strange things with the USB devices. In December I reinstalled
everything and just forgot to turn the cam on. Now it's installed and
working but since I live in California I pay through the nose for
my electricity (and am subject to unannounced blackouts) so I can't
leave my computer on all the time anymore. You might catch the cam live
on weekends but don't hold your breath. Sorry to the 4 of you who enjoy
watching a cam feed of the truck that never moves.

Re: Stickers depicting Calvin whizzing on Chevy logo, Ford Logo, Toyota
logo, Honda logo, INS, La Migra, etc. Knock it off or at least do it right.
I don't want to go off on a rant here, but do you really want to
subject your car to vandalism by a representative of the other side? I'd
never own a Chevy but I'm not willing to declare war on Chevy owners by
showing their bow tie logo being urinated upon by a cartoon character.
Urinating on things is generally a show of disrespect in this culture.
Speaking of that, if you are going to have the Calvin Whizzing sticker
on you car please do it right. If you own a Ford you don't slap a Calvin
Whizzing on a Ford sticker--you're missing the point. I see that
many times a day (usually with Toyotas) and it irritates me to no end.

I watched many hours of the Sci
Fi Channel's Twilight Zone marathon yesterday. I saw 2 F1's,
and they both ran people over. Are they trying to convey some sinister
message about Ford trucks? One of the trucks (immediately after running
somebody over) drove off a cliff and was dashed to pieces. It was a perfect
looking 48-50 F1 panel. That was uncalled for.
I received the February issue of Custom Classic Trucks today. I gave it
a quick flip through and really didn't feel the desire to read any of
it. Aargh--my subscription isn't up until October! That makes me wonder
why they keep sending me these Final Warning notices. If it's this bad
with a year left I'd hate to see it when the subscription is really running
out...and it will unless they get it together.

Happy New Year!
Bad news for you AOL users on the Bonus Built list. It appears that AOL
6.0 just isn't compatible with the list and there isn't anything you or
I can do about it. I suggest getting a web based email account
(such as Yahoo or Hotmail) for your Bonus Built mail. Even better (trust
me) is to dump aol and get a real isp.
The poll is working again. Take a minute to see if this month's question
applies to you. I know it's funny looking--I'll try to fix it.
The question over the last 2 months was "Do you still have straight
axle front suspension?" 84% of you do.
A couple new links have been added to the Survival Guide. One of which
is to Auto Restorer magazine, which I find a refreshing alternative
to the likes of Custom(ized) Classic Trucks.
